Moving on from Monday,....

Happy First Day of the week!

It has been a whirlwind past few days but let me see if my poor brain can give a quick recap! Last week went great! I saw my store I will at and its GORGEOUS! If Nordstroms and Neimans had a Dillards baby this would be their store :) Thursday we went out to a great brew house in Frisco for happy hour (boy did we need it after a day of unloading the truck!) Then Friday we went to Blue Mesa (Best place ever!!) for happy hour and you want to know the best thing...with your drink (which they have the most amazing electric blue margarita) you get free trips to the chips and salsa bar (all homemade) and free quesidillas! Let me just say we SO hit the jackpot! All that for $4.00 now thats in my budget!! lol

Then Saturay was training day where I met more of my team and they seem very sweet and then I had interviews in the afternoon. While the day wasn't to bad it was time to go out for the first night in Big D! Where did it take us?...to II Brothers which is this neat bar/pub place that had all walks of life! Met some nice people and had tons of girls chatting for sure! The best part...this guy that was checking out all the womens SHOES commenting on how much he liked them and would make them stand up and show him their shoes. Now thats a new pick up line I had never seen! To bad it backfired!! lol But it was a fun first night out! Some other girls from work met up with us so its nice getting to know everyone since we will be working 50 hours or so a week together!

Then Sunday was finally super bowl Sunday and errand running day!! I got sucked into the beautiful mall by me and then wandered amilesly around Ikea for one pillow case it took me over an hour! haha and the best part is... I got to get my favorite hotdog for lunch! Ikea has the most AMAZING hot dogs in the world! I am telling you I would get just for lunch to get one of those bad boys! Then it was back to home to watch the good ole Saints beat the Colts! (ok who am i kidding..i was all about the commercials!!)

Then today is was back at the new store unloading two more trucks of goods but I got the day to spend in my accesories division and let me tell you something ladies...each handbag in the store and wallet is properly place for a reason! I had NO Idea how much work went into displaying, placing, and merchandising the bags! So please know its hard work getting those bags looking pretty! lol But I learned a lot about my accesory division and got a lot done! Then tommorow its off to Los Colinas to go to a Clinique kick off party! Each time before they start "gift with purchase" they have a huge day where they bring in all the business manager and get them pumped up and informed about the gift and I get to go to represent Dillards so I am SO excited! I am sure I will have lots to fill you in on!

Well all I am EXHAUSTED and am ready to curl up with Franklin and call it a night. I love you all so much!

What do you call the day after hump day?

Well i have decided that the day after hump day (Thursday) needs its own pseudo name like..3rd base day or something because your almost in the home stretch! lol So this week has been a wonderful good kind of crazy! I have been learning lots from interviewing, to floor displays, to designing, to recruiting..you name it I have probably been there and done that in my very short time here! But i couldn't ask for a better learning experience!

I got to see my new store where I will be and all I can say is GORGEOUS!! Watch out Nordstroms Dillards is coming to get you!! It is VERY high end looking and sleek and its so shiney and new! The makeup area..to die for!!! And the accessories are just stunning! The team is absolutley wonderful over there and I have a feeling may long nights but fun times are ahead :)

All I can say is 2 days till the Super Bowl!! What is a girl to do in Big D on game day? (esp since I am SO not a football buff!) I am rooting for probably the saints though because it would be a wonderful gain for that city :)and I want to see an underdog work it out!!

I am just a "tad" bit exhausted so its early to bed but you all are always in my thoughts!

From Sunrise to Sunset

So it is official..I have completed my first day with the Dillards corp and am on to day 2! It was a great day yesterday and everyone I met was so very nice but the only thing was..i had to leave when the moon was still up to get there in time! Gotta love Big D's traffic! I learned a lot yesterday and am going to be a busy bee but i cannot wait!

The craziest part of the day..when I was in Nordstrom I ran into the mother of a girl I grew up with in Ft.Smith! Talk about a small world! I guess it goes to show no matter where you go a little piece of home is bound to find you :)

I am off to begin the fun commute to downtown this morning but I love and miss you all so very much and hope all is going great back at home!

First Day As A True Texan..Yee-Haw!

So its official.. I am a true Texan! The boxes are unpacked and the decorating is done (thanks to my dad's "inner self" coming out) and its officially the first day to breathe the unusually cold Texas air! Its just crazy to believe I was working in Bentonville, AR at the first part of the week and am now in Frisco Texas about to start a new chapter of my life in all the time span of 7 days.

In less than 24 hours I will start my new venture as part of management with Dillards training, staffing, managing, their cosmetics division . I cannot wait to get back to my love...cosmetics! I have loved every job I have had in cosmetics from my beginnings as an intern in college at a makeup boutique, to training at Bare Escentuals, to the best part of it all..having my own store. After the store closed I tried my hand in the corporate world working at a broker firm for Walmart Vendors and while it was a wonderful learning experience and I met some of the best people in the world there it was time to realize I need to something that I have passion in, and that is in the beauty world.

My first week this week will be filled with lots of training, and lots of traffic! I feel like my welcome to Dallas present is...traffic!

I miss all of my family back home and dear friends but I know the next chapter in my life is just about to begin!
